14 Aug Boston leads the way with Connected MOT Equipment
Boston is pleased to announce that our range of Class 4 and Class 7 roller brake testers are officially approved for use as MOT Connected Equipment.
According to the updated ‘DVSA – Acceptable Equipment’ list published by the GEA on the 8th August 2019, Boston is one of just two manufacturers to comply with the new regulations. Furthermore, out of the 16 models approved, 10 of them are manufactured by Boston.
The new specifications come into force on 1st October 2019 and applies to new MOT site applications as well as MOT stations that need to replace old brake tester models. It will not apply to approved MOT stations that already have a working brake tester installed.
As a leading manufacturer and supplier of MOT Test Lanes, Boston is close to receiving DVSA approval for ‘connected’ emissions equipment and at an advanced stage of development for compatible decelerometer and headlamp aim beamsetter models.
Although no date has been set by the DVSA for the introduction of additional Connected MOT Equipment, the government has clearly indicated that these items will be rolled out in a phased approach.
When that happens, you can rest assured that Boston will be ready with DVSA approved equipment in place.
