Reporting to the Customer Services Manager, as Field Service Engineer you will have a portfolio of 250 customers responsible for visiting premises to undertake diagnosis & repair, installation and calibration of garage equipment.
The Service Engineer is the face of the business, delivering services and supporting our customers at every stage of the product lifecycle. It is a technical role with significant attention to health and safety required during every visit.
Deliver upon the terms of service agreements to ensure that customer equipment is calibrated in line with legislative requirements. Ensure all certificates are downloaded to the correct file location on a weekly basis.
Coordinate workload to ensure effective time management and efficient route planning. Where possible decrease travel time and increase productive time by planning work in geographic clusters.
In the case of unplanned maintenance, respond quickly, change plans and communicate changes to all stakeholders. Ensure all breakdown reports are downloaded to the correct file location on a weekly basis.
Carry out site surveys prior to installation, then full installation and customer training, sign off completion form with the customer and download to server.
Build solid customer relationships to support increased customer satisfaction.
Focus on quality of service & first-time fix, feedback requirements to improve.
Keep abreast of the latest technology and products, highlight training requirements to line manager. Offer ideas for training that would benefit you and your peers equipping you with the skills and experience needed to achieve high levels of performance.
Job Requirements :
Legislative knowledge of DVSA requirements regarding Tachograph and MOT bay installations and calibrations.
Proficiency in the use of the latest Microsoft Office 365 apps
Working knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems including 3 phase.
Knowledge of health and safety on customer sites
Ability to interpret wiring and hydraulic plans
Customer centric approach to service and support.
Excellent communication skills, ability to be confident, patient, and polite when dealing with customers.
The ability to travel including overnight stays, including some weekends
